The Carousel String Quartet is based just outside London.  We cover the Surrey, Hampshire, Buckinghamshire, Berkshire and Kent areas, and also perform regularly in London.  We are happy to travel further afield so please do not hesitate to contact us if this is a requirement.    

The Carousel String Quartet is more than happy to play outdoors on fine days, usually between the months of May and August.  Should the weather be too cold, windy or wet, we would have to move inside.  We ask that there is some shade for us to play under, possibly a well placed tree, an open gazebo or large patio umbrella, to protect us and our instruments from direct sunlight. 

We are always grateful if some soft drinks / tea / coffee are made available throughout the engagement, excluding during wedding services and ceremonies.  For bookings of 2½ hours or more we would appreciate sandwiches or similar being made available during one of our short breaks.

We need an area covering approximately 10 feet by 10 feet, preferably on a flat surface with adequate lighting.  We need 4 armless chairs which should be placed in a semicircle.  It is also very helpful if there is a place / room where we are able to get changed / leave our cases during our performance.

The Carousel String Quartet have a pool of professional musicians we can call on to deputise in case of illness, holiday etc.  Our deputies are experienced and talented players and have been part of our team for many years.  They are well rehearsed and familiar with our music and meet the high standards of our quartet in every way.

We don’t publish our fees online because every individual booking has different requirements.  This allows us to offer you the best quote for your event when you contact us directly. 

We are happy to arrange a special piece of music for you for a small additional fee.  This is subject to the piece being suitable for arrangement for a string quartet.  If we do not have your special choice of music in our repertoire already, please call Hannah or Kate to discuss your requirements.

Our diary is constantly being updated because we hold both provisional and confirmed bookings.  Because of this we do not publish it online.  To check whether your date is free, please contact us by emailing or calling Hannah or Kate. 

Yes, a £100.00 deposit is required to secure any booking, and should be returned with your contract form.  

On the very rare occasion that a client cancels the booking completely, we would retain the deposit paid.

Carousel String Quartet always dress smartly and usually wear matching all black outfits, with a selection of coloured jackets in the autumn / winter season.
